Now running for over 15 years, the annual 'Park of The Year' competition, sponsored by Towergate Insurance and hosted by Park Home and Holiday Caravan Magazine, is back and we're pleased to announce the winning park for 2015 is Swiss Farm, Henley-on-Thames.

What makes the award so special is that the parks are nominated by their own residents. Linda and Keith Knight of Swiss Farm commented:

"It's a lovely park in a great location, convenient for the centre of Henley, which is just a short walk away, plus there's a bus stop at the park's entrance for those who want to go further afield. People here are very friendly, but without being overbearing, with everyone respecting each other's space. The lifestyle is also very relaxing and the park feels very secure, so you have no worries if you go away for a few days. I also love our home itself, and it's a great place to be detached and to have lots of interior space."

The couple also praised the Park Manager, Don Hilton, who has lived on the park for 52 years and managing the park for the last 25 years. They explained:

"Don is a great manager, really hands on in his approach and always willing to help people out. His enthusiasm helps to make the park such a nice place to live."

Also delighted that Swiss Farm won the award were the the park's owners, the Morrison family. Henry Sr bought his first park back in 1982. He commented:

"I thought the park home sector would be a good place to invest in, so took the plunge back in 1982. We now have 13 parks, achieved all through organic growth rather than through any great planning. All our parks are for retired people and are all in exclusive locations around the UK. We always treat residents with the utmost respect, treating them how we would like to be treated ourselves."

Henry Sr continues commenting on the prize:

"It was very unexpected, and we are, of course, delighted to win. I must say though that all the credit should go to the Park Manager, Don, who does a great job in running the park and is well respected by the residents and by ourselves."

The proud sponsors, Adam Summersby and Lauren Mason, of Towergate Insurance also attended. Adam explains why Towergate continue to sponsor the competition:

"As specialists in park home insurance, we are keen to play our part in the park home sector, supporting good sites that are great places for residents to live. On a personal level, it's also great for us to get out from behind our desks and meet park home residents in person, to get a feel for the communities they live in and see how we can better support them. This can then be fed back in to our park home policies, making them even better suited to the particular needs of park home residents."
